Lectures by Professor from the University of Bologna
The lecturer addressed issues such as basic testing, which is necessary during the preparation of future conference interpreters, and the qualities that students must necessarily or preferably possess for a successful career as oral interpreters, as well as problems of evaluating translation quality. A lecture on the peculiarities of interpreters᾽ brains and brain processes involved in the process of oral translation sparked particular interest among students. Attendees had the opportunity to learn whether oral translation can be learned or if it is an innate ability.
