Teachers of the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology, the director of the Lysychansk Professional Pedagogical College, students, employees of the Kadiivka Professional Pedagogical College and the Dolyna Consulting Center gathered in order to honor the memory of the outstanding Ukrainian poet and artist. 

On April 26, 1939, by the Decree of the Presidium of the Verkhovna Rada of the Ukrainian SSR, the Luhansk State Pedagogical Institute was named after the genius of the Ukrainian people, Taras Shevchenko. It was not by chance that the higher education institution was named after the Kobzar, because at that time it was the only institute in the industrial region where teachers of the Ukrainian language and literature were trained.

And today, the figure of Shevchenko remains a symbol of indomitability, strength of spirit and love for Ukraine.
