Traditional Carpet Weaving
Students of the Design Department deepen their knowledge and skills by studying the basics of traditional carpet weaving – a unique subject that distinguishes their professional training among higher educational institutions in Ukraine.
During the classes, students get acquainted with the history and techniques of carpet making, the symbolism of ornaments and modern approaches to the preservation and development of this type of art. The practical component of the course provides an opportunity to try out various weaving techniques and develop their own compositions, based on traditional motifs.
Studying traditional carpet weaving not only enriches the knowledge of students, but also contributes to the revival and popularization of the national cultural heritage, integrating it into modern design and art.
