The participants took a unique journey through the pages of the university’s history – from its foundation in 1921 on the basis of pedagogical courses to the emergence of a modern multidisciplinary institution of higher education. The main stages of the university’s development were highlighted: the formation of a pedagogical school, the expansion of scientific and educational areas, international cooperation, and integration into the European educational space.

Special attention was paid to the trials that the university has faced in recent history. The participants of the event recalled the events of 2014, when, due to Russian aggression, the university was forced to leave its native Luhansk and continue its activities in new conditions, as well as the challenges that the institution faced after the start of a full-scale invasion in 2022. Despite the loss of its material base and forced displacement, the university preserved its academic community, restored the educational process, and continues to fulfill an important mission in the development of Ukrainian education and science.

The event was an opportunity to once again realize the importance of the university as a space of knowledge, culture and civic responsibility, and also confirmed that the strength of the university lies in its people, traditions and faith in the future.
