Safer Internet Day at the Starobilsk Professional College
The aim of the event was to raise awareness among children and adolescents about safe use of the Internet and responsible interaction in the digital environment.
The meeting discussed current cybersecurity issues: protecting personal data, creating strong passwords, recognizing phishing messages, combating cyberbullying and information manipulation, using social networks and messengers safely, and developing a digital culture of communication. Special attention was paid to digital security in the context of the Russian Federation’s aggressive information war against Ukraine, in particular, the issues of countering propaganda, identifying fake information, and preventing recruitment through online resources.
The event was held in an interactive format, where students actively participated in solving cases with various life situations that can occur in the online environment, analyzed information messages, and identified fake news. At the end of the event, participants completed a quest on the educational platform Diya.Osvita.
Students demonstrated a high level of knowledge in digital literacy, cyber hygiene and media literacy, as well as a responsible attitude towards their own safety in the digital space.
