The Donetsk Regional Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education invited lecturers and master’s students of Foreign Languages Department to join a professional discussion within the framework of the online info session “Cyber Hygiene in the Daily Work of a Teacher: Simple Safety Rules.”
On February 16, lecturers and master’s students (specialty A4.021 “Secondary Education. English Language and World Literature”) of Foreign Languages Department attended the info session organized by the Donetsk Regional Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education.
During the webinar, participants had the opportunity to explore key aspects of developing teachers’ information and digital competence in the context of the modern professional standard. Cyber hygiene was examined as an integral component of a teacher’s professional competence, ensuring the safe and responsible use of digital resources in the educational process.
Special attention was given to practical recommendations on cyber hygiene in the daily work of teachers. The speakers emphasized simple yet effective safety rules: using strong passwords and updating them regularly; protecting the personal data of students and colleagues; critically evaluating information from open sources; avoiding phishing attacks and unsafe links; adhering to ethical norms in digital communication.
The event contributed to raising awareness of the importance of digital literacy as a component of the professional culture of the modern teacher. All participants gained practical tools to enhance their own level of cyber security and to foster a responsible attitude toward the use of information technologies in the educational process.
Thus, the info session became not only a source of new knowledge but also a platform for discussing the pressing challenges of the digital age faced by educators.
