Interuniversity Discussion of Current Issues of Modeling and Accreditation of the EPP
In the format of a professional discourse, a number of topical issues related to the modeling, implementation and accreditation of educational and professional programs in higher education institutions of Ukraine in the specialties of Preschool Education and Primary Education were discussed. Representatives of leading universities, guarantors of educational programs, members of working groups and experts in the field of higher education took part in the event. The event was organized by Sumy State Pedagogical University named after A.S. Makarenko.
The key topic of the discussion was the specifics of determining the uniqueness of educational and professional programs. Participants emphasized the importance of clearly formulating the unique features of the EPP, taking into account the regional context, scientific schools, interdisciplinarity, innovative educational components and labor market demands. Special attention was paid to the practice of substantiating uniqueness during accreditation procedures, where representatives of the Department of Early Childhood and Preschool Development shared their own experience.
The issue of transition from specialty codes 012 "Preschool Education" to A2 and from 013 "Primary Education" to A3 in accordance with the updated classification of branches of knowledge and specialties aroused considerable interest. The participants discussed the organizational and regulatory aspects of such a transition, possible risks for education seekers and higher education institutions, as well as the need for coordinated actions when updating educational programs and curricula.
A separate block of discussion was the issue of assigning qualifications to graduates, in particular the correctness of wording in diplomas, the compliance of qualifications with the National Qualifications Framework and professional standards, as well as the coordination of academic and professional qualifications in the context of changes in the classification of specialties.
Following the discussion, the participants agreed on the need for further inter-university communication, the development of common approaches and the preparation of recommendations for practical use by higher education institutions. Holding such discussion forums was recognized as an important step to ensure the quality and transparency of the educational process in the context of reforming the higher education system.
