Meeting with a Stakeholder at the Foreign Languages Department
Students of the Department with their lecturers participated in the meeting with the teacher of English and German at the Gerhart Hauptmann School in Sohland, Kseniia Shaparova.
During the meeting, Kseniia shared her experience of studying German, working at a school in Germany, and highlighted the specific features of organizing the educational process, methods of motivating students, and intercultural aspects of teaching foreign languages. The participants had the opportunity to ask questions, learn about modern approaches to organizing the educational process, and receive practical advice for their future professional activities.
The speaker also shared her experience regarding extracurricular activities, which play an important role in the development of students’ language competencies. She provided examples of organizing recreational, health-related, and cultural events. In addition, an established tradition of the Gerhart Hauptmann School is annual trips to the United Kingdom, which contribute to the development of English communication skills and intercultural interaction.
Special attention was devoted to inclusive education. Kseniia presented the principles of organizing learning and approaches to children with special educational needs, as well as the fundamental bases of their upbringing and holistic development, which are emphasized in German secondary schools.
The event became an important platform for the exchange of experience between students and a teacher working in the European educational environment, fostering the formation of professional competencies and broadening the horizons of future teachers.
