In order to honor the participants in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl accident, the teacher of the discipline “History of Ukraine” Olena Vratskych held an hour of remembrance “Chernobyl: tragedy, feat, memory” for students of the Starobilsk Professional College of LTSNU.

During the event, students got acquainted with the history of the Chernobyl accident, the causes and scale of the disaster, its social, environmental and humanitarian consequences. Special attention was paid to the feat of the liquidators, who, risking their own lives and health, fulfilled their civic duty.

The event contributed to the formation of historical memory, a sense of patriotism, respect for the heroism of the liquidators, as well as the awareness of human responsibility for technogenic safety among students.
