Guest Lecture by Andrea Danese (England)
On December 10, 2025, a guest lecture was given by Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience at King's College London, Adjunct Professor at the Yale Center for Child Research Andrea Danese.
The speaker presented a lecture on the topic "Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder", within which he revealed modern scientific approaches to understanding PTSD in children and adolescents growing up in the context of war events. Professor Danese focused on the biopsychosocial mechanisms of the development of post-traumatic stress, the role of early traumatic experience and its long-term impact on mental and physical health.
The lecture was attended and actively interacted by students of the first (bachelor's), second (master's) and third (educational and scientific) levels of higher education in specialties I10 "Social Work and Counseling" and 231 "Social Work" under the educational programs "Social Work and Counseling. Psychosocial Services", "Social Work. Social Pedagogy. Practical Psychology" and "Social Work".
The university students and teachers had the opportunity to ask the professor questions, discuss the specifics of working with traumatized children and receive valuable recommendations regarding professional activities in the field of mental health.
The lecture became an important platform for raising awareness and professional competence of specialists working with children who have experienced psychological trauma.
